The isolated hills of Romania, remote mountain passes in Peru, 350 miles of the roughest gravel Kansas has to offer, Trans-Europe epics: we are endlessly inspired by the places people ride their Firefly Gravel bikes. Those experiences have pushed us to continually refine every detail, making the bikes more capable, versatile, durable, and beautiful than ever before.

In 2015 we introduced our proprietary Adaptive Butting process, which reduces the weight and improves both strength and ride quality of every full titanium bike we build. In 2017, the increasingly demanding riding of Firefly riders across the globe led us to create our custom 3D-printed chainstay yoke, a tiny but crucial component that helps us build Gravel bikes with industry-leading tire clearance and the shortest possible chainstays, all without any reduction to frame strength or stiffness. Shortly after, we applied that same technology to our custom 3D-printed flat-mount disc dropouts, making our frames stiffer, lighter, and even more precisely aligned than ever before. And most recently we introduced our custom Ti forks, allowing us to fine tune the handling, ride quality, fork options, and finish to a new level.

Those incremental improvements, all inspired by the incredible community of Firefly riders, have continued to this day. Add that to our always fully custom fit, geometry, tubing, and finish, and the result is the Gravel bike of your dreams.

You could call it real world R&D, or experienced-based design. Whatever you call it, it’s what makes our Gravel bikes the best they’ve ever been.

Bike companies are constantly searching for the perfect balance of stiffness, comfort, and lightweight. Ironically, the material key to that balance, the material of dream bikes, has been available the whole time. That material is titanium, and we have been honing our titanium frame-building skills crafting custom frames since 1995. We start with the best quality 3/2.5 titanium tubing sourced from top aerospace tubing suppliers. After we have designed a geometry and selected tube dimensions to suit your riding style, we machine, externally butt, bend, and miter the tubing all in-house to meet your bike’s specific needs. In other words, every single element of the construction is custom for you. The result is a velvety smooth, light, and efficient bike with unrivaled durability and unlimited finish options. With titanium, your dream bike today can be your dream bike in 20 years.

Our goal has always been to make the very best bike possible for every riding style, and titanium’s exceptional combination of versatility, durability, ride quality, and light weight have always been at the heart of achieving that goal. At the same time, carbon bikes are everywhere for a reason. When done right, carbon is light, stiff, strong, and quiets road vibrations beautifully. By blending custom mandrel-rolled, tapered carbon tubing with precision-machined titanium lugs and chainstays, we are able to combine the best qualities of both materials into a single, extraordinary frame. The result is a truly high performance bike that is slightly lighter and stiffer than a full ti frame, all while maintaining the fully custom design, superb ride feel, and unmatched attention to detail that set all of our frames apart from the crowd. This is the pinnacle of ride quality, aesthetics, and frame design.

In a word, the Firefly is a revelation: the handling is nimble and responsive (no more toe overlaps!), I’m able to rail around corners with confidence, and getting (and staying!) on the drops is no longer an ordeal.  I’ve come to expect Ti to be a super light material, yet I’m still surprised at how remarkably it climbs.  As for the usual suspects describing Ti’s ride quality: stiff, responsive, and comfy — yep, all true.  Taken together, these are stellar qualities that I would have never expected to find on a single bike.

And then there’s the process of getting the Firefly itself.  First, there’s the sheer craftsmanship involved with building the frame: the welds are stunning and the tube surfacing with anodized bits are awesome to see in person.  The custom tech with the dropouts and CS yoke has sparked many conversations with my fellow bike nerds in the office.  Most notable, the time you kindly spent going over frame numbers has instilled an appreciation for bike geometry and fit: that finding those numbers can be done methodically without needing a pro fitter or fancy jig.
